How to get involved within our parish...

St John's is a very active parish, with a wide variety of different groups which encourage parishioners of all ages to engage with each other and wider community of Banbury.  Here are just a few of them.
THE FINANCE COMMITTEE
The Finance Committee meet approximately four times per year. Their functions include counting & banking the collections; Gift Aid; Book-keeping; Computer Records; Quarterly Accounts; Annual Returns to the Archdiocese.

ALTAR SERVERS
For young people who have made their First Holy Communion. They can be admitted into the Guild of St Stephen after they have served for a minimum amount of time. Contact Fr John or Fr Ryan.

CATENIANS
Banbury Circle meets on the 1st Monday 
of the month at Banbury House Hotel; the meeting is followed by dinner.  Please contact Nigel Butler for more information, on 01295 253951.
CHILD PROTECTION
Each parish has a nominated Child Protection Representative, whose purpose is to ensure that the parish follows ‘safe practise’ guidelines. If you have any concerns, you may raise the matter with your parish priest or you can contact the representative in your parish: Nicola Mollard on 262073.

CHILDREN'S LITURGY & MINI LITURGY
This takes place at the Sunday 11.15 a.m. Mass during term-time.  For more information, please contact Nicola Mollard in the parish office.

CLERGY TRAINING FUND
For the support and training of seminarians for our Archdiocese. For more information, or to support the CTF, please contact Gary & Kay Johnson via the Parish Office.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION
The Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion work from a rota, prepared in advance.  For more information, or to volunteer, please contact Michelle Hemstedt via the parish office.

FRIENDS OF THE HOLY LAND

Meet on a regular basis to arrange ways that we can help to support our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land.  For more information, please contact Paul Concannon.

HORTON HOSPITAL
If you (or a member of your family) is in hospital, please inform St John’s Parish office, so that we can include you on the sick visiting list. The Hospital Chaplains are Fr John Peyton and Fr Ryan Service, assisted by Deacon Henry Allen & Sister Therese O'Neill.

MISSIO
Mission Boxes, for parishioners wishing to donate small change. Contact Andy & Sue Hale.

OVER 65s MONDAY LUNCH CLUB

This takes place in the Dupuis Centre on the second Monday of each month (except during the summer holiday).  Places are limited, so booking in advance is required.  Please contact Marilena.

PADRE PIO PRAYER GROUP
A group of parishioners meet to pray together on the last Monday of each month in the Tandy Room in the Dupuis Centre at 10.30 a.m.

Readers work from a rota, prepared in advance. Anyone who is willing to take on this ministry, please contact Julie Hart for more information.

REPOSITORY SHOP
Please see them for your copies of Catholic newspapers, books, cards and objects of piety. The Repository is usually open after each Sunday Mass.
